About Me

Hello! I'm a Brazilian geologist currently working in the remote sensing field with radar interferometry technology. I specialize in geotechnical analysis and geological mapping.

Professional Background

My work focuses on applying radar interferometry techniques to monitor surface deformation, which is crucial for understanding geological hazards and environmental changes. I've developed expertise in analyzing complex geological data and creating detailed mappings to support decision-making processes.

Personal Interests

Outside of my professional life, I'm an avid video game enthusiast. I also enjoy writing, hiking through Brazil's diverse landscapes, and maintaining an active lifestyle through regular workouts.

My Interests

Video Games

Video games have been a major passion of mine throughout my life. I'm particularly drawn to story-rich RPGs, strategy games, and indie titles with unique mechanics or artistic visions.

Some of my all-time favorite games include the Metal Gear series, Age of Mythology, Fallout New Vegas, and Castlevania: SOTN. I appreciate games that combine challenging gameplay with immersive worlds and thoughtful narratives.

Beyond just playing, I enjoy analyzing game design principles and following the evolution of the medium as an art form and storytelling vehicle.

Hiking & Nature Exploration

Living in Brazil provides me with incredible opportunities to explore diverse landscapes. From the Atlantic Forest to stunning coastal trails, hiking allows me to combine my love for nature with my geological background.

I find that hiking offers the perfect balance to my professional work with remote sensing. While my job involves studying the earth from a distance, hiking lets me experience geological formations up-close and personally.

The mountains of Minas Gerais, especially around the town of Carrancas are my favorite place to spend a weekedn hiking. Each hike is an opportunity to discover something new about Brazil's rich natural environment.

Fitness & Physical Training

Getting old sucks. Period. If you wanna stay healthy, and not be in and out of a hospital by the time you're sixty, it's good to put on some work on strength training and cardio.

No one really loves exercising, but through strength and endurance training I managed to find joy in the tedious process of completing an exercise session, kinda like meditation but without the new age bullshit.

Building a private gym at home also helps, since I'm not restrained by hours or taking turns with people wanting to working in. It can be as pricey or as cheap as you want, just make sure to have enough space for your movements.

My advice? Keep it simple: bench/overhead presses, deadlifts, squats, core exercises, and pull-ups. With an Olympic barbell, a bench, a rack and about 100kg (~200lbs) of barbell plates, you can go very far.
